INTERNATIONAL DOT DAY !!

What is International Dot Day?
And why are we celebrating?

Each year schools around the world read "The Dot" near
September 15 as a celebration of the creativity of individuals.
The book emphasizes that each person can make a contribution
to the world.  That is a great message to share with our readers.
                               Psalm 139:14
" I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;"
This year OCS numbered among a million people
who took time to consider their potential.

The library collaborated with art classes to enjoy various
activities to enrich the reading of the book.  Readers listened
to the book, watched videos, shared thumbprints, and
signed huge dots all as part of the celebration.

An extra special technology component was the
interaction with the colAR app.  Students designed
their own dot drawing on a special targeted paper.
Afterwards they viewed their picture with the colAR app
to watch their drawings become 4D in augmented reality.

It was such a great time that plans have
already begun to increase the celebration
next year !
