MONARCH MIGRATION

Living in Oklahoma, we get to enjoy one of the wonders
of creation each fall and spring as the monarchs complete
their annual migration.

In an effort to be more connected - the Second, Third,
Fourth and Fifth Grade classes are participating in the
Symbolic Migration Project conducted by Journey North.

Students decorated miniature butterflies to send to students
in other parts of North America. The small artwork was attached
to larger butterflies that will be sent to students in Mexico.

All of the pieces were assembled and mailed.
Now we are eagerly waiting for a return butterfly in the spring
that will mimic the journey that the monarchs follow each year.
