THE CALDECOTT MEDAL

Every year in January the American Library Association awards the Randolph Caldecott Medal
for the most distinguished children's  picture book.

Classes spent lots of time examining previous winning books.
The students compared and contrasted the many types of art styles and methods.
There were smiles and joy as readers reconnected with old favorites.

Then we took time to examine picture books published in 2013 that would be eligible
for this year's award.  Following these hands-on close observations,
classes began to cast their own votes for their top three books.

Now the time for waiting has begun until the actual winners will be announced.
