Book Hopping

Venturing into the twittershere,
I have "met" some amazing educators.
They are all so willing to share great
ideas and collaborate in learning.
I am truly enjoying the ride.
Last week, we tried out an idea
I discovered from twitter pal
@colbysharp.  He is a third grade
teacher in Michigan who is a great
promoter of reading.
Definitely, my kind of friend!

Mr. Sharp recently tweeted about
an activity in his room called
"book hopping."  Students take
a one minute meeting with a book
and then pass it on.  A clever way to have
students explore a lot of books quickly.

Having just finished the "Humphrey" study,
I introduced the second grade classes
to several other authors that are winners.

It was exciting to watch books and  students get together!!!
